Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Dissolving a ''Separation Maintenance Agreement''

My wife and I separated in September of 2006. The process used was a Separation Maintenance Agreement, and was signed by a judge. Now, we are reconcilling and wish to dissolve the separation agreement. We live in St. Joseph MI and are having a difficult time finding a lawyer to do this. The main issue seems to be over our agreement to set up a trust fund for our children, in which would go my life insurance when I die. One lawyer stated that the courts would require a guardian ad litem for the children to protect their interests. I believe the agreement is between my wife and I and if we want to dissolve it, it should be pretty cut and dry. Is there any precedence on this issue?
