Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan
Divorce; Alimony & Child support adjustments
At the time of divorce, my wife and I were both employed. She quit her job recently (she was making $11/hr, my salary was/is $100K/yr.)
The child support and alimony stated in the divorce agreement used these salary considerations to establish my monthly obligations to her. Now that she quit her job, is the amount I have to pay likely to increase due to the loss of her earnings? Is there a calculation that I can use to estimate the new amount, if any?

Re: Divorce; Alimony & Child support adjustments
Whether or not your alimony obligation will change depends in part on how the judgment of divorce is drafted. Whether or not your child support changes is dependent on custodial arrangements, visitations, etc. It would be best to contact your divorce lawyer to make these inquiries.
