Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Divorce Amendment Upon Death

My father-in-law passed away,

having left all funds and property to

his children by prior court order. His

parents (my husband's

grandparents) have been secretive

with finacial info and have been

removing personal property while we

are away. They know about the

previous court ruling, but are

choosing to ignore it. How do we see

that the judgement is upheld,

through obtaining financial records

and removed property? What steps

do we take to get that info and

property that is rightly ours?

Re: Divorce Amendment Upon Death

Most likely a temporary injunction will be required to prevent any further raid of the estates assets. Thereafter, you will need to request an accounting of the estate. You will most likely need to retain an attorney who specializes in probate and estate planning to assist you.

If we can be of further assistance please contact us directly. Good Luck.
