Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan
divorce decree inforcement
A poorly written judgemnet directs me to fruadulenty name an ex-spouse as my ''surving spouse'' on my Michigan Teachers Retirement. It was supposed to be ''50% of my death benefit'' which is 50% of the money I contributed, + interest. Instead, the judgement reads 50 of Spouse retiremnet benefits, which the State dis-allows. Email from the State Office of Retirement Services clearly state that I may NOT name an ex-spouse as surviving spouse. Is the order considered unenforceable? Thank you

Orders of the court are normally valid and enforceable until revised or rescinded. Contact an experienced family law attorney to resolve your problems.
