Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

if in a divorce can a disabled persons(me)have to

pay for spouse,alimony,attorney fees,our any kind

of fees from my disability pension or from my social security benefits.also spouse just committed felonious assault in me and is being charged for such and shortly after filed divorce.my wife is being supported by a wealthy

campanion and his lawyers,i have nothing and court date is this dec the 12th. how can i do this in such short time and lack of funds as first lawyer wanted $2500.00 up front.....

impossible for me to do as i have already filed and granted bankrupcy do to lenghty processes for disabilities.hopefully will begin recieving $1100.00 from

pension starting end of month...right now recieving nothing.

could you please help with any guidence?

If you just filed for bankruptcy, you should have some disposable income. $2,500 is not a huge retainer and I would think this court date has been pending for some time now. Your best bet is to hire an attorney and then your attorney can seek an adjournment to get up to speed on your case. If you qualify, you may be able to get inexpensive or free legal advice from a legal aid clinic or from a local law school.
