Divorce due to domestic violence

I am seeking advice for a friend who is in desperate need of seeking a divorce. She is currently a resident of michigan and in fear of her life (domestic violence) was involved. They didn't have children together and the desire to get a no-fault divorce is the option. The problem her soon to be ex-husband has just been released from prison and is trying to locate her by contacting her mother in New York via phone. This marriage was a very and near fatal relationship that needs to be terminated. She can't afford an attorney
