Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Divorce Forms

I am doing my own divorce as it is a uncontested divorce and we are in 100% agreement on everything. We have filled out an Marital Settlement Agreement noting what is to be done with all items, assets, etc that we have together. It has been signed and notorized. I just received a Asset Discolure Sheet (Macomb County) and the letter says I have to fill this out before the conference. Does this need to be filled out if I already have the Marriage Settlement Agreement? Also, the ''Discovery/Scheduling Order'' I received states that both parties need to appear at court. However, my husband filled out an ''Answer & Waiver'' form waiving off his rights to the hearing - does he really need to appear? This should be cut and dry I would think, but I keep receiving curve balls thrown my way with more things the courts need. Please help! Thank you SOOOOO much!

Re: Divorce Forms

You are doing your own divorce - - - -that sounds sort of like "I'm doing my own surgery." Either you know how to do surgery or you don't. Do you know how to practice law. If so, your question is unnecessary. If not, you need to hire a family law attorney.
