Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan
Divorce
I live in Michigan and I want to leave my home with my 3 children and sign a lease on a new home before divorce papers are filled, my name is on the mortagage along with his. Am I sacrificing all rights to the home and/or any equity involved in the divorce settlement if I vacate the premises?

Re: Divorce
I wouldn't say you are sacrificing your rights to the home, but you do have an edge over having possession of the home if you are actually in the home than if you leave the home. You should consult an attorney about this before you do anything.
