Divorce before property settlement

Can a divorce be gotten before any property settlement is agreed upon?

You can get a divorce at any time without a property settlement. You would leave the property settlement and all other issues in reserve for they would need to be dealt with at a later time.

A property settlement is required as a part of the judgment of divorce.
