Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan
Divorce new question
I am currently still living with my spouse although have gotten my own bank account and p.o. box, trying to separate myself as much I can from him. Also last year filed my income taxes married filing separately. I claimed two of my three children and also plan on doing the same thing this year. I'm trying to work up the courage to go ahead and plan for divorce but my problem lies with my two youngest children, 11 and 15 who don't want to leave their house but also don't want to live with their father. They want to just put up with how unbearable it can be sometimes because they are not comfortable with the thought of leaving the only home they've ever known. Any advice? Also, besides my own bank account, own credit cards, p.o. box, and own income tax return, any advice on how to further separate myself before divorce?

Re: Divorce new question
If you wanted to get divorced, you'd get divorced. You are using the excuse that your kids are manipulating the situation as an excuse to avoid confronting the world on your own. When you decide to break the ties, you will. Otherwise, continue to live in misery. William S. Stern
