Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Divorce/immigration

I am a Canadian citizen. This past February, I came to Michigan to visit a friend and have been here since. While remaining in the State, I wish to obtain a divorce from my Canadian spouse. I am not seeking custody or Canadian assets. I have futre plans to remarry a citizen of Michigan. Please advise me as to how I can do this.

Re: Divorce/immigration

Greetings; You must become a citizen of the USA and a resident of Michigan. Then you can file a divorce action in the same fashion as anyone else. Thanks, Atty. Trichler; www.trichler.com
