Does/can a divorce decree stop the one spouses credtors from demanding assets and properties that were awarded the other spouse in the divorce ?

Divorce judgments have no bearing on creditors whatsoever. However, in Michigan, spouses or ex-spouses are not liable for each other's debts. If you had a creditor that was joint, just because your ex-spouse was required to pay for that specific debt does not mean the creditor cannot collect from you. It will be up to you to enforce the problem through the divorce court.
