Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Dominican Republic Divorce

If I was married in Michigan but went to the Dominican Republic to get a divorce but it was never registered in Michigan, does that mean I am still married? And what is my ex-spouse entitled to? She is the one that abandoned the marriage. She is trying to sue for half of my assets.
