Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Being able to emancipate myself if I am able to support myself

I am currently 17 years of age and I live with my parents. About a year ago I was forced to move in with my father and step-mother. Since the move I have been put through a lot of emotional agony and have had high levels of stress, due in part to my parents. I have recently been presented with an opportunity to move into an apartment with a couple of friends. I get good grades in school, and my job can financially support me. Would it be possible to emancipate myself under these conditions? Or is there some other legal way to move out of my parents house before I turn 18?

File a petition in the probate court to emancipate yourself. You may win. Bill Stern
