Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Father's rights

My husband and I have a major problem. His ex has lied about me (new wife)to the courts stating I have attack his children, which she has no proof of and she has filed a PPO against me. He went to court for this and the judge ruled that I can not have contact with the minor children and order counseling for them not me. We had a terrible attorney who didnt know what she was doing. So we went the to ex's counselor who saw through her lies, so the ex changed counselor's, now we have to go to a different counselor who will not state if I am harmful to the children or not. We got a new attorney who could care less about what is going on. So it has been three months now and my husband has to leave the house every weekend with his childrend because he will go to jail because a court order stating that I can not see his children. How can a system be so messed up? The ex told terrible lies and a judge believed her. We have a stable environment for the children and she is the own who is having different men come in and out of the house, drinks all the time, ect. We need help!!! What can we do? We have gone to counseling and she changes counselors, she misses appointments and out attorney does not care!!

Re: Father's rights

You need a different lawyer so you have confidence in your representation. Something can be done but it would be expensive. It would involve having the family evaluated by an experienced psychologist who specializes in this type of thing. Although the expense is substantial, think of it like this.........it is an expense due to mistakes that he made many years before. One more thing........as a general rule, when people run through multiple attorneys, they generally are never satisfied. However, it may be due to the lawyers you had and economic difficulties that may prevent you from taking the action I recommend. Feel free to call me at 248-353-9400 William S. Stern
