Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

how to file a request

I filed a non contested divorce and my husband and I need to postpone the final hearing request for 90 or more days because I lost my job and medical insurance. Once I have insurance we wish to finalize the divorce. I called the circuit court today and was told I need to petition the court to enter a order to extend the time frame so the case is not dismissed for no progress. I have no idea what form I need or where to get it and the staff could/would not advise me. I do not have an attorney, we filed this divorce ourselves 9/2006. I am at the step where I need to file the default and obtain a judgment.I do not want to do this until approx 3/2007. Help?

Getting some help from an experienced attorney is a great idea. You should call to set an appointment with one immediately.
