Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan
Girlfriend denying father seeing his child when angry
My cousins girlfriend will not let him see his child when she gets angry or just feels like it. They have not gone to court and have no custody arrangement, and I thought that means he has as much right as she to seeing and keeping the baby. I cannot find any statutes on this issue.

He needs to make sure paternity is established. Is his name on the birth certificate? If not, he needs to bring a paternity action. Once paternity is established, he can bring an action for parenting time. He will also, probably have to pay child support. For more information, please contact my office at (248)851-3171.
