Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Grandparent Rights

I need to know if the State of Michigan has a grandparent rights law where as my mother and grandmother can sue me for visitation or custody of my 2 boys? I am trying to stop them from being a part of my childrens lives because they have called Protective Services on me twice with false allegations. Also would hiring an attorney be the best legal defense against them? Thenk you very much for you time and help.

Re: Grandparent Rights

Governor Granholm signed a grandparents' rights bill into legislation about a year ago. You really do need to consult with an attorney to determine if this would have any impact on you and your family.

Good luck.
