Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Health Insurance Coverage Obligation

I am required to pay child support until my child is out of high school but no later than age 19 1/2. I am also required to provide medical insurance coverage. Is this requirement typically until 18 years or also 19 1/2?

Re: Health Insurance Coverage Obligation

According to the information regarding your question, it appears you are located in Utah but that it pertains to Michigan law. If that is the case, you should consult a Michigan attorney to answer your question. In Utah, the requirement to carry medical insurance lasts as long as the child support obligation. In other words, when the child support obligation ends, so too does the requirement to carry medical insurance.
