Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

husband lied about financial situation before we married

I have recently discovered a number of lies that my husband told me before we married concerning the terms of his previous divorce financially and some other lies. It has put me into an extreme financial hardship as a result. We have only been married 6 months and his name is now on my refinanced home and property, as I wasn't able to secure a refinance alone. What are my options of getting out of this now that I know how bad the financial issues are? I cannot refinance again, due to the costs and my income level is not where it should be to secure it on my own. Do I have any legal recourse to sue him for breach of contract or anything?? in order to keep my home and property that I worked so many years to keep?

He also keeps putting us further into hardship by continuously either co-signing or approving loans for his son who abuses his vehicles. In Michigan he can co-sign a loan without approval of the spouse. I am now very afraid that he will drive us down so far that my only recourse would be to sell property. Please help, I'm at a total loss on what to do!! Every week it seems I find out one more thing that he agreed to on his previous divorce that puts our finances in dire jeopardy, yet lied to me about before we married.

You can seek an annulment, without having to hire a lawyer by petitoning the court.

The forms are available either at the court, or online through the SCAO website.

If things are that bad, you should look into it pronto. Then, also make sure that the order takes his name off of everything that is yours, like your access to credit.
