Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

My husband and I have been separated for 6 weeks. He wanted the divorce and moved out. We have already separated our money and possessions. He has a girlfriend whom he met online before he moved out. We have been married for 11 years. He is 8 years younger then me and makes more money. I am getting by on my income but just barely. My standard of living has dropped. My question is whether or not I can ask for alimony. What are my odds of getting it?

Yes, you can ask for alimony. You do not provide enough information to be able to predict whether a judge would award you alimony. However, before you seperate anything else, you should meet with an experienced family law attorney to prevent you from doing any further damage to your divorce case than you may have already done.
