is it illegal in michigan to have a live in girlfriend...
My boyfriend has custody of his son who is 14 years old. the other day he heard on the radio that a man in michigan cannot have custody of his child when the girlfriend is in residence. my boyfriends ex wife is the type who will run to court over everything and we have been considering living together. there is nothing in their divorce stating he cannot have a member of the opposite sex over when his son is home. is our living together going to affect his custody if the ex wife decides to persue it?

Its a bad idea to get legal advice from the radio. The answer to your question is maybe. Depending on the judge, living together MIGHT make a difference and it might not. It is however, not against the law. Before making any decisions that MIGHT effect his children and custody, he should consult with an attorney that specializes in family law.
