Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Joint CC, ex-husband's charges, i'm the only one paying

I had a joint credit card with my ex. I made NONE of the charges. He was supposed to make payments and has not made more than one payment since our divoce (May 2007). Every month, I pay. Is there any way I can get legally removed from this joint account?

Not unless it was provided for in the judgment of divorce, as the credit card company won't take you off the account until it is paid in full, or possibly if your husband agrees to take on the full debt.

If your divorce judgment required him to pay off the card by a certain time and he hasn't, you could have to file a motion with the court to have the judgment enforced, thus requiring your Ex to pay off the credit card.

Thanks.
