Joint Legal Custody

Mom has Physical Custody of 15 yr old . Dad has Joint Legal Custody. Mom pulled child out of school several years ago to home school. She is no longer home schooling him, and has not enrolled him in regular school. If she is turned in for not sending this child to school, Will the Father be held equally responsible becaue he has Joint Legal?

Yes. The father also has an obligation but the criminal case would be stronger against the mother who has physical custody. William S. Stern

Both parents share responsiblity for important parenting decisions. Father should immediately take steps to get the child into school.
