Joint Property

My husband and I are separated. We own a home together in MI and he resides there. If he rents out part of the house am I entitles to part of the rent money. We both pay 50% of the house payment. Also, do I have any say in whether he can rent out part of the house? I do not live in MI any longer.

Yes, you should be entitled to 50% of such rents(subject to whatever deductions may be reasonably claimed by your husband for various costs associated with the rental or upkeep of the property, payment of taxes, etc.).

And, yes, as a co-owner of the property, you have the right to approve anyone who may be permitted to occupy it.
