Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Hi, my name is Jose Vigil. My question for you is concerning child support. I have literally been in and out of prison for the last 10 years and also outside of dealing with this I have been struggling with addiction. I'm finally on a good path and have been clean for a year and despite the economy and my horrible record I've been blessed with a job. I'm not by any means trying to not pay the child support that I owe, but I was wondering what my options were for lowering the amount I pay and reducing my back pay child support, just for the simple fact that most of that time was spent in prison. I'm trying really hard to maintain out here but its so disappointing to work and only come home with $100 dollars a week from my pay check which is not enough to live on. Could you please let me know what my options are and if they look good and what the cost would be to get something going. I know that you can file motions at the friend of the court, but it is in wayne county and they are not so friendly and if you don't fill out the paper work just right they throw it out, so I want to go about this the right way with legal representation so that I know everything is done right.
