Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

who has jurisdiction?

I have a four year old daughter who has been residing in the state of MI for the last three years. My original court ordered visitation order took place in Florida. I still reside in FL.After a long battle of trying to see my daughter over the last three years it has now come down to a fight over which state has juris. A FL court put out a contempt order in FEB which the mother has still not complied with, but my question is now that is has come to wether or not she has to listen to the FL order. If I have an ongoing case in FL, but she has lived in MI for three years..have I wasted all my time and money fighting her in Fl I can't afford to keep fighting a battle that I never seem to win. Who has jurisdiction..please help.

Re: who has jurisdiction?

The Florida case should be transferred to Michigan. The Michigan court has to honor the Florida order but it can be changed as can all orders involving kids. Bill Stern 248-353-9400
