Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Can a lawyer help?

The divorce judgement states ex will pay $360 a month in support of one child. He was working at the time. I accepted a job less than 100 miles away that offered a $10,000 pay increase. My ex had 13 jobs in the 8 years we were married so I made this move away from my home town knowing I would need the money soon. He quit his job in Oct. and bought a business. I do not know what kind. He has not contacted me, will not answer calls or emails. He did contact FOC for coupons so they did not schedule a show cause. It is now nearly January and my daughter has not received a penny in child support since mid October. I have been in contact with FOC with no luck. My question is, can a lawyer help me in this situation, or will my case simply revert back to FOC? Do I have to wait for the show cause hearing if it ever happens? I am a full time student working on my doctorate degree, and a full time employee as well. Ex has not seen his daughter since September. He saw her 6 days total in 2004. Please what options do I have? Thank you for your free help. It would be very difficult for me financially to hire a lawyer.

Alas, I am sad to say,....you probably need a lawyer to get anywhere with the FOC. It also depends on the county. For more info, please contact my office at (248)851-3171.
