Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan
I have been legally married for ten years. We actually split up eight years ago and just never divorced. My concern is that his new girlfriend says she is his wife and has even assumed his last name. The only reason I worry is that they are a very shifty, con type people and I'm afraid one of their acts will come back on me. We haven't divorced because we have never been able to agree on anything dealing with the kids and frankly its easier for me to stay away from him and they kids never have to go with him. Is she impersonating me by saying she is his wife?

No big deal. He can't really get married until divorcing him, and you would have some rights to his estate if he dies and you are still married. If you are really bugged, you would need to file for the divorce. www.kliszlaw.com. Tim Klisz
