Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Living will for my child and not step children

My husband and I have 1 minor child together. He also has--name removed--ex-wife & 3 minor kids with her. How do I assure that if I die, my money and things will go to my child only? If I leave things to him, and he dies a year later, it'll be divided between all 4 kids. How do i assure my things would go to my child and not all 4 children??

You need to talk to an estate planning attorney, first of all. What you desire can be accomplished with a will and possibly (if necessary) a living trust.
