Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Long story short :), Living in Michigan, my husband and his daughters mother agreed to suspend the current child support obligation. He has no arrearages, they now have established joint (shared) custody but in the order he is required to pay the health insurance for his daughter. For the past two, his daughter has been living with us.

The mother has moved to Atlanta but now want the daughter to come live with her. She recently called and said she wanted to close the support case in Michigan and needs him to sign some papers and get them notorized.

We think that she is trying to open a new case in Atlanta once her daughter moves there with her.

My husband is a great father and takes care of his daughter outside of the child support. Not to mention the mother has never sent any monies or support here to us in the time that her daughter has been living with us.
