Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Where do I mail hearing notice?

I am filing to hyphenate my son's last name. I have not heard from my ex husband for over 2 years.

He never changed his address with Friend of the Court (his mothers P.O. Box letters have come back to me as undeliverable), he gave me his last apartment address and P.O. Box, both are no longer valid (letters came back underliverable no longer living there), he said he may move and would let me know, but that was the last I heard from him.

My questions is, Where do I mail the notice? The last address & P.O. Box he gave me, the Friend of the Court address, or just send it to the last address he gave me and then publish the hearing notice in the local new paper?

Thank You

Re: Where do I mail hearing notice?

There are specific procedures that you must follow relative to motion notices. Your attorney will be familiar with the notice requirements. However, it sounds to me as though your attorney may be unfamiliar with name change procedures. If so, consult with a new attorney.
