Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

If a married couple who is not legally separated nor have divorce papers been filed, can one of them take their joint positions from their home ie: furniture, beds, kids toys and clothes and many other items without the others knowledge or permission?

Both parties would seem to own the assets equally. However, what are you going to do about it, go to the police? I doubt it. If you file for divorce, it would be an argument to get credit when assets are distributed.
