Re: Michigan Laws of Dating. Female 16 Male 20

Ok, I have read but not quite understand the law about a 16 year old female dating a 20 year old (He just turned that age) Please confirm this. If the gentleman asked permission to date their daughter, and they said yes under conditions that no sexual contact and to respect her, is it legal for them to date? I hear so much controversy on this. He is respectful of her, and her parents, there is over 3 year difference, but he is not the typical 20 year old and find him a bit immature as far as other 20 year olds. Please send me a answer or a confirmed link on what Michigan laws are. Thanks

a 16 year old does not need anyone's consent to date a 20 year old. 16 is the legal age of consent in Michigan, which means she can engage in any activity, including sexual, with someone older than her, legally.
