Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

A minor obtaining legal rights of that of an 18 year old

I was wondering what it was called, and also where I can get more information about becoming legally independent at the age of 16, where I am fully responsible for myself. Able to get my own place of living, be responsible for myself medically etc.

It is called emancipation. If you want my advice, if you are not getting along well with your parent or parents and they still are providing you with support, take what they give you and limit your contact when you are a little older. You are handicapping yourself too much otherwise. Why punish yourself? Bill Stern
