Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan
Can I move out before the divorce is final?
I was wondering if I could move out of our house before we file for a divorce. I am just now contacting a lawyer to start on a divorce, but my husband is dating another woman and stays with her alot(no change of address though), but when he is not there he is here in our home together. I am having a hard time being mentally stable in this living situation, and would like to take myself and our two kids into a new home within the same state. My husband would personally have no issues with me doing this, but I was wondering if it would hinder me in any way legally? Can I legally move into a new residence with the children? Also when we put the home up for sale. Would I loose the right to divide the money of the sale of the home? Please help!

Were I you, I would not move so quickly. You should first consult with a lawyer. Houses are selling very poorly now that winter is approaching, and the market is bad for sellers in Michigan.
Are your children of school age? Do you want to move more than 100 miles away? It may very well be that you can move, but there are other factors to consider.
