Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Notice Of Support Review

In the state of Michigan what can happen if I dont answer a Notice of Support Review? What do I have to provide legaly to the court? I have a family now and based on the states calculator I would have to pay alot more support than I currently do. This will cause my family great distress as we only live paycheck to paycheck currently and have a lot of debt because of medical bills. Also I've lost jobs before because the friend of the court came around bugging my employers, I know that is a little strange but it has happened to me on one or more occasion. I want to leave this state because they are so brutil to the fathers who have to pay. Please Help..

Re: Notice Of Support Review

Correction . . . they can be brutal to fathers who DO NOT PAY. I assume that when you state that you now have a family, that you are not including the child for whom you pay child support. Is that child not part of your "family"? If you feel that the amount of child support you are ordered to pay presently is unfair, your best bet is to petition the court for a reduction. You would probably get the optimal outcome if you hire an experienced attorney to represent you.
