Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Obtaining restraining orders against an adult child

I have a 22 year old son who is a drug abuser. He keeps coming to my home when I have asked him not to. When I go to work, he has his little brother let him into the house. His brother loves him and is 13 years old. I know it is hard for him to say no when he comes to the door. I have directly requested he not come over , but he won't listen. He is NOT violent or threatening. He just wants to hang out, eat, use the phone, but I don't want him at my home daily. Can I get a restaining order against him? What grounds do I have?

Re: Obtaining restraining orders against an adult child

Greetings; You have at least two options for dealing with this situation. First, call the police and have them inform your son that if he comes over again you will file charges. Additionally, you could file for the restraining order. I doubt it will be necessary. Good luck, Atty. Trichler; www.trichler.com
