Overnight Visits with Cohabiting Parent

My ex-husband recently moved in with another woman (its her place not his). This is the second time this has happened since we have been apart in 2 years. I do not feel that our son should stay overnight with him for the fact that he is living with another woman. He gets visitation as often as he would like and whenever he wants it (far above whats stated in the decree)...I just don't feel its right to have a 4-year old staying with his dad and another woman when I monitor who I put in his presence and what kind of message he receives. The last time it happened my son had a lot of questions and when that relationship broke off my ex had to explain that he wouldn't see her anymore, but still left me with questions to filter. I feel that was something that could have been prevented. What is the precedent on minor children not staying overnight when the opposite sex lives there (unmarried)?

Re: Overnight Visits with Cohabiting Parent

The court can prohibit overnights with any unrelated member of the opposite sex.

Re: Overnight Visits with Cohabiting Parent

Bring a motion before the judge requesting an order preventing overnight visitation in the presence of a person of the opposite sex unless he is married. In light of the past, this will most likely be granted. Make sure he cannot make the same charge as to you. William S. Stern
