Can my parents make me move back home?

Does my mother have the right to make me move back home when i am 17, if i am not emancipated? Can i date who ever i want when i am 17? even if they are over the age of 18?

Re: Can my parents make me move back home?

Your mother is your legal guardian, and yes, unless you are emancipated, she has the right and the obligation to do what she thinks is best for you. If you are in her house (legally speaking), it's her rules.

Now, if you don't want to do that, at your age, you CAN get legally emancipated. Few judges would turn down your request, if you make it clear that you no longer want the care and protection of your parents,--in other words, that you want to declare yourself an adult.

This may be a good course for you if you don't want to follow her rules.
