Paternity Test Reveal Not the Father; Now He Wants Back Support Suit
As a younger, single and divorced welfare mother some years ago, i named a man I believed the father of my child. After testing revealed he was not, he now wants to sue me. I am still single, and unemployed but get an outside moderate income. I am in debt with unrecovered credit problems. I am struggling to provide for my children as it is. What can I do to protect what real income puts food on the table? Isn't the child support agency somewhat responsible for mailing out checks when paternity is unconfirmed? How can I find out how much has been paid out? After being adjudicated the father, he was in debt due to lack of support. Then he got an attorney, got the blood tests and got off paying a lot. Now he comes back a few years later and wants to sue me. What recourse, if any, do I have at this point?

Re: Paternity Test Reveal Not the Father; Now He Wants Back Support Suit
I wouldn't worry about it because he obviously thought he was the child's father, also or else he would have taken action sooner. No court or jury will have any sympathy for him. William S. Stern
