Paternity testing

Hello,

I was married six years ago, and then found out my wife was pregnant. We have been apart since two weeks after the wedding, and I do not think the child is mine. I want to get a divorce without an attorney, but think I need to establish paternity first. How do I go about ordering a paternity test for the child?

Greetings; Under the law, the child is yours until you prove otherwise. To force a DNA test, you will need to file for divorce. You can not force a test, without filing some sort of lawsuit. You do not have an absolute right to the test, but in your situation, the judge is most likely to grant your request. Give my office a call and we can get the paperwork started. Thanks, atty. Why are you so thrifty with such an important aspect of your life? I assume you do not have a relationship with the child. If you do, paternity may be irrelevant.
