Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

paterniy tests on a questionable child

My fiance was with a girl a couple years back, she had a baby and told him it was his. Now she lives in florida with the child and we want to know if this little girl is his. How can we legally order a paternity test to find out if the child is his? All we know is that she lives in florida and we don't know her exact residence.

Re: paterniy tests on a questionable child

You are going to have to find her. Hire an investigator if you have to. Once you determine her whereabouts, if she will not consent, you will have to go to the court in the county where they live and obtain an order for paternity testing. This could be complicated if she has remarried and the child was born during the new marriage, etc. Bill Stern 248-353-9400
