prenuptial agreements

Hi I live in Michigan where I understand there are no prenuptial agreements. Can I get a prenuptial or some contract that will keep me from having to pay my wife half of my earnings from before we are married and DURING our marriage if we have a divorce?

Michigan does enforce prenuptual agreements that comport with Michigan law. Importantly, you must each have your own attorney, and you must each disclose all of your assets. The prenuptual agreement will not protect you from paying child support as required by the Michigan Child Support Guidelines if you have children.

Michigan does uphold pre-nuptial agreements. You must have full disclosure of both sides assets. A court will not enforce any provisions that are against public policy. You also like a previous poster stated deal with child support for that is governed by the Michigan Child Support Guidelines.
