Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan
Primary care giver is moving to new state
My ex-husband and wife are moving from MI to FL with my 14 y/o daughter. He is the primary care giver, and thinks that he has all final says in her upbringing. My concern is that she is at an age where she will be trying new things and pushing for her independence. X and his wife work odd long hours, they are in the medical field, and will be leaving my daughter alone or with stepmom's family. Since I'm a stay at home mom, could I request a custody change?

You can most likely stop the move. See a good family law lawyer and take immediate action. The judge may transfer custody if the circumstances are right for that but that will be difficult in light of the fact that the husband has haed custody for so long. However, the judge may not allow the move. See a lawyer right now. Bill Stern 248-353-9400

Possibly, but it begs the question, "why don't you have custody of your daughter in the first place?" Are there extenuating circumstances that you have not disclosed? I need more information. For more info, please contact my office at (248)851-3171.
