Property Gift

I am getting divorce and like to find out if Gift I received during marrige from my dad is going to be divided between both of us. The gift - small land was just to myself and only my name is on Deed.

It's hard to tell what a Court will do. Typically, if it was a gift/inheritance and it was kept separate from the "marital" property, then it would be treated as separate property. Usually, though, the other side will argue that it wasn't really separate - did he pay any taxes on it? Do any improvements? These facts would all make a difference. If you did not keep the property separate throughout the marriage, then it is likely going to be treated as marital property and be split. It is an issue for litigation by an experienced divorce attorney, such as myself.
