Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Questions concerning care of daughter.

My ex girlfriend and i have a 4 year old daughter. She has recently been dating another man. Since then the man has moved in and nearly all contact with my daughter has been terminated, i call nearly every day to speak to her and he will not let me. Since the only household phone they have is his cell phone he says i may not talk to her and there is nothing i can do. The very few times i have been able to see my daughter she says that he spanks her very hard and tells her that he is going to ''break my leg''. Now i know 4 year olds can have big immaginations but i dont think she is making these things up. What steps do i take to be able to see my daughter and if nothing else, at least speak to her on the phone on a daily basis.

You have to file a lawsuit in order to set up a custody, payment and visitation arrangement. If you are interested in taking the steps that should be taken, give me a call at 248-353-9400. If it was me, I would file a emergency motion to remove her from the house until it the violence situation can be determined. You should exercise your rights and responsibilities as the father.
