Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan
Recently divorced in Michigan and I was awarded one of our homes, my name is not on the mortgage, only my ex wife's name is. I was awarded the home even though I didn't ask for it, I was given 90 days to finance the home in my name, but I have not been able to due to poor credit.. divorce decree states that Iam to refinance and that my ex be free and clear.. can I legally walk away from the home and let it go back to my ex wife?

I would need to see your judgment however, from the information you shared, it appears you agreed to assume the debt on the home. IF the bank sued her, she could add you as a defendant essentially arguing to the bank IF me, then HIM. Divorce consent judgments are analyzed through contract and family law.
