Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Retirement Funds

Is my husband entitled to any of my retirement fund after 4 years of marriage? I have been employed for 23years. I have been contributing to the fund for 12 years. He is self employed and has no retirement fund. He did recently recieve an inheritance. I do own a home and have for 15 years, in my own name. Currently there is no equity in the home. I have to teenage children that I am supporting on my own. He is leaving the marriage with virtually no debt. I filed for divorce. Thank you for considering my question.

Re: Retirement Funds

Your divorce attorney will be in the best position to analyze the particular facts of your case. Your husband MIGHT be entitled to a small portion of your pension but there are many factors to be considered before that is determined.
