Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan
Retirement
My husband and I have been together 13 years and married 8 yrs. For 22 months of our marriage I was unemployed. When I asked about setting up a 401K, he said he already had one and I don't need to get one because it was for us. He just retired in June of this year and now all of a sudden the monies put away for our retirement are for HIS retirement. Do I have a right to a portion of these retirement monies that he has recently put into an annuity?

Re: Retirement
Of course you do. This guy seems like he's either very selfish of setting you up. You should at least confer with an attorney NOW before he can advance his plan any further. You need to understand your rights so he can't bully you around, hide assets, cheat or steal.
